Usage
The H2S-containing biogas is passes through a fixed-bed or moving-bed reactor, which is filled with the formed gas purification compund FerroSorp® S. Solid iron sulphide is formed by a chemical reaction of the gaseous hydrogen sulphide with the iron hydroxide, which can be converted into elemental sulphur in a second reaction.
Dosing air or oxygen causes a continuous regeneration of the gas purification media and ensures maximum loading rates of the FerroSorp® S products.
Important safety information: In order to best exploit the FerroSorp® S – products, the O2-concentration and humidity should be monitored at least daily and kept at favourable conditions of O2:H2S of at least 4:1, but minimum 0.2 % O2, as well as 60 – 90 % relative humidity. The regeneration reaction is exothermic and can lead to a fast temperature rise at change-out or a leakage, if these conditions are not or cannot be maintained.
